We are overjoyed to let you know that we have made the Youth Matters final with ‘Our Inclusive workplace’ in the Diversity Award.

Over the last few weeks, nominations in all categories were reviewed by YMCA England and Wales external judges, including a record-breaking public vote with more than 14,500 votes cast.

Special thanks to Sarah Law and the Inclusion leads at each project who are constantly working towards making our organisation even more inclusive, welcoming and fair and whose work over the last year caught the imagination of judges and the public.

Also immense thanks to everyone who voted for us.

This is where you can see who else is in the running for an award in this year’s Youth Matters Awards and also where you can read more about what was achieved at YMCA Brighton in the area of inclusion, equity and diversity.

Here’s a snippet: ‘There continues to be an overflow of discussions around all EDI topics, from LGBTQ+ matters, to accessibility and Gender Informed Practice. Staff feel confident presenting questions, ideas, good practice and barriers at optimal times to ensure the best outcomes and discussions.’

The finalists will attend a prestigious awards ceremony in London on Friday 18th November where the winners of each category will be announced.

This is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the innovative and visionary work which has taken place at YMCA Brighton in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion over the last year.
