Are you passionate about social justice?

Do you want to see an end to homeless in Brighton & Hove?

Do you believe individuals, with the right support, can transform their lives?

If the answer is yes, you can help us to make a difference.

YMCA Brighton provides homes to over 300 adults in Brighton and Hove who have experienced homelessness. We work with residents, offering trauma informed, person centred, support to enable them to develop the skills and resilience they need to move on to independent living, and end the cycle of repeat homelessness. We are a small Registered Social Landlord and a Registered Charity employing over 100 staff, that has been supporting the community of Brighton & Hove for over 150 years.

We are currently seeking volunteer trustees to join our experienced Board to oversee the organisation’s governance, compliance and strategic development, to help us to extend our reach and impact.

We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who have experience in the following areas:

• Finance

• Fundraising, individual giving or philanthropy

As a member of the Board you are required to attend six board meetings each year, and any additional subcommittee meetings as required.

Trustees are appointed for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of serving for two further terms.

Applicants should have a genuine interest in issues such as housing and a commitment to the needs of the local community.

We encourage applications from all backgrounds including women, black and minority ethnic candidates, younger people and people with disabilities, as these groups are currently under-represented on our board.

If you think you have the qualities we require then please e-mail elaine.madden@brightonymca.co.uk or telephone 01273 220900 with your name and address and we will send you further details. Trustee Volunteer Vacancy
